"I saw these two beautiful wild stallions, Tupi and Lansa, at the McCullough Peaks in Wyoming. I took many photographs of them that day. They were so much fun to watch. Little did I know it would be the last time I would see Tupi. A year later he was injured when fighting another stallion and had to be put down. Stallions get injured when battling over mares, but usually recover from their wounds. I had already started this painting when I learned of Tupi's passing. This is my tribute to a beautiful, wild stallion I will always remember.
