"This is the second painting I have done of Daniel in the lion's den. The story can be found in the Bible in the sixth chapter of Daniel. Daniel trusted in God and was protected by an angel sent to keep him safe from the lions. I always thought Daniel trusted God so much he fell asleep and didn't worry about being killed by the lions.
This painting took a lot of time to position the lions where I wanted them. I used my own reference photos I took of lions at a zoo and a big cat rescue. I had it all drawn out on the canvas and realized the male lion that Daniel was sleeping on was too big. I had already drawn it two times and was sad I would have to do it again. I felt the Lord say "Just make Daniel bigger." I had a good laugh over that one and made Daniel bigger. My hope is that we can all trust in the Lord in our lives just like Daniel did in the lion's den. He is a good God! "
