"This beautiful, Africa Caracal Cat seemed to be enjoying the early morning sun. These smaller, but agile cats are rarely seen during the day because they are nocturnal hunters. I found this one at the Sanford Zoo here in central Florida. Some day I hope to see one in the wild. This Caracal Cat seemed to be enjoying the early sun on a crisp Florida winter morning. Most people don’t know what this cat is called and think its a Lynx because of the tufts of hair on the ears. They have been known to jump twelve feet in the air to catch a large bird in flight! They have to be pretty tough to live and compete for food in Africa."
