"I’ve seen and heard the Red-shouldered Hawk flying around the wetlands many times. Usually they are flying from perch to perch making their "kee-yah" screams. They are very vocal and make a lot of noise. I was actually trying to take a photo of a Great Blue Heron and was hiding behind a tree near the waters edge. I took several photos and then what I thought was a log in the water moved. It was a Red-shouldered Hawk taking a bird bath at the edge of the shoreline. He would flap its wings and dip under the water several times before sitting there motionless in about five inches of water. He proceeded to do this for about five minutes before he flew up into a tree shaking off the last remaining drops of water."
